WYOMING — Gov. Mark Gordon has proclaimed that all U.S. and State of Wyoming flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, Sept. 11, to honor those who perished in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
“For those of us who remember that day, it has become an indelible memory of how our nation must be ever vigilant,” Gordon said in a statement. “For all of us, this tragedy will always serve as a reminder of the strength, resilience and compassion we possess in the face of devastating loss. I urge all citizens to take a moment to commemorate and honor the Americans who were lost, who were injured and who saved lives on that tragic day, and to do our part to never forget.”

“Over the last 23 years, what was destroyed, we have repaired,” Biden’s proclamation states. “What was threatened, we have fortified. What was attacked — the indomitable American spirit — prevailed. That is who we are. That is the soul of our Nation. There is nothing we cannot accomplish when we defend with all our hearts that which makes us unique in the world: our democracy. That is what the heroes and patriots of 9/11 did. And that is what we must all continue to do today.”
