CHEYENNE, Wyo. — In accordance with a proclamation by the President of the United States, Governor Mark Gordon has ordered both the United States and Wyoming flags to fly at half-staff immediately as a mark of respect for the victims of the mass shooting perpetrated in Lewiston, Maine.
According to live updates with CNN, at least 18 people are dead and 13 others are injured following two shootings Wednesday night at a bowling alley and a restaurant in Lewiston, Maine and the manhunt for a mass shooter continues.
President Joe Biden in a statement Thursday called the rampage in Lewiston, Maine, “yet another senseless and tragic mass shooting,” and urged Republican lawmakers “to fulfill their duty to protect the American people” and work on gun laws.
Flags are ordered to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Monday, Oct. 30 in memory of the victims.
