JACKSON, Wyo. — Town Council turned their focus back to new designated locker rooms and grandstands for the Snow King Sports & Events Center at Monday night’s meeting, unanimously approving two motions: one authorizing Mayor Arne Jorgensen to execute the funding agreement with Center Management, Inc. (CMI); and a second awarding $1,405,142 from the Capital Projects Fund to Shaw Construction for the project.
The project, which was first approved by Town Council at the Dec. 15 Town Council meeting last year, is expected to be completed by October 15, 2026.
After the December meeting, the Town received two bids from construction companies to do the project: one from West Fork Construction in the amount of $1,495,780 and a second from Shaw Construction in the amount of $1,405,142.
Following bid receipts, CMI — the nonprofit organization that runs the Snow King Sports & Events Center — proposed a revised funding contribution of $325,000, which is a reduction from the $350,000 proposed in December. Mac Munro of CMI stated that this was for a variety of reasons, one of which was a “reduction in the overall project cost.” Munro also cited that some original backers of the project rescinded their funding commitments.
There was no public comment, and discussion from Town Council centered around the reduction to $325,000 from the $350,000 initially promised by CMI.
