WYOMING – A Gillette man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on US 16 near Ten Sleep yesterday.
On February 12, a fatal crash occurred at milepost 37 on US 16 east of Ten Sleep, Wyoming. Around 1:30pm, Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the area for a single vehicle rollover.
A 2001 Ford F-250 was traveling westbound on US 16 when the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand curve. The Ford exited the roadway and overturned.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as Christopher Short, 46, of Gillette. Short was not wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
Speed is being investigated as a contributing factor.
This is the 17th fatality on Wyoming’s highways in 2019 compared to 9 in 2018, 10 in 2017, and 6 in 2016 to date.
