From wallflower to two-stepping, pretzel-making dance partner Urban Cowboy 2 Country music Buckrail - Jackson Hole, news

Those long, boring nights as a wallflower at the Stagecoach and Silver Dollar are over. It’s time to two-step your way to the dance floor with the moves you’ll learn at Dancers’ Workshop’s Country Western Swing Workshop.

If you’ve never tried The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar’s Thursday night dance lessons, you’re just about out of time. Their last one of the season ends October 12th. Not to worry, Dancers’ Workshop is picking up where they leave off.

Local legends BJ Reed and Clayton Schmidt lead you through the basics of Western Swing and Texas Two-Step. Grab your sweetheart or don’t. These styles may require a partner, but the class will rotate, with instructors available to partner with you too (which, let’s face it, is the best way to learn). Good for all skill levels.

Drop-in one of the days or take the full workshop. Of course, if you really want to feel confident on the dance floor, we suggest all three weeks, as each week builds on the one before. By the end of the three weeks, you’ll be ready to pull on your boots and hit the dance floor!

October 6, 13 & 20
Fridays / 7:30-9:00pm

Advance registration is highly recommended.

Workshop takes place at Dancers’ Workshop Studio 5 – located in a stand alone building on the south side of the Center for the Arts building, next to The Center Lawn. The building says “Studio 5”. If you do not find parking near the Glenwood Street entrance, parking 1/2 block away at the public parking lot on West Simpson by Vertical Harvest and Marriot’s Spring Hill Suites is a great idea.
