Friess still mulling run for Senate Foster Friess Jackson Buckrail - Jackson Hole, news

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Jackson philanthropist and investor Foster Friess elaborated on his political aspirations in a story by the Casper Star Tribune. Friess has said publicly that he is considering a Senate run, challenging Wyoming US Sen. John Barrasso.

In an email to the Trib, Friess made it clear that his motivation has nothing to do with the job Barrasso has done (incidentally, the Casper paper pointed out Friess misspelled Barrasso’s name numerous times in the email) but rather he listed several recent incidents which have promoted him to consider entering the race for Barrasso’s seat.

Friess also acknowledged the campaign trail would be a challenge given his hometown’s reputation throughout the state.

“Most of Wyoming…has a very negative attitude towards Jackson as it is considered sort of an elitist environment so whether or not my humble background will offset that needs to be assessed,” Friess wrote.
