JACKSON HOLE, WYO – It’s tax time again and once more the library is offering free tax preparation assistance.
Teton County Library is teaming with the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to offer its popular free income tax preparation service to the community. Every Wednesday (Jan. 31 through April 11) IRS-certified volunteers will be ready to help the public with their taxes. Spanish translators will be available on-site to assist Spanish speakers.
New this year, the library is offering free childcare for families getting tax preparation assistance at the library on Wednesdays in February. This benefit will be offered only in February. For babysitting, the library requests that families call ahead, 307-733-2164 ext. 101, to them know how many children and their ages.
In-Person: Wednesdays, 3-7pm, in the library’s Ordway Auditorium. This service covers federal income taxes (including self-employment income), tax credit eligibility and electronic filing. Please arrive early as this service is offered first come, first served. Last day: April 11.
Drop Off: Drop off all your required paperwork, consult with an IRS-certified volunteer and come back to sign and submit. Tuesdays, 4-7pm. Saturdays, 10am-1:30pm. No appointments necessary.
Self-service with help: Prepare your own taxes with our assistance, using the MyFreeTaxes online service. Stop in to ask questions or review with a volunteer before filing, during any of the tax preparation sessions.
