JACKSON, Wyo. — Young anglers will have a chance to learn about fly fishing this summer at a series of free seminars put on by The Jackson Hole Fly Fishing School (JHFFS) with support from the International Game Fish Association (IGFA).
The four classes for area youth will be held on Saturdays (July 20, Aug. 3, Aug. 17 and Aug. 31). All sessions will run from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at JHFFS on the corner of WY22 and US191.
Participants will have a chance to learn about entomology, fly selection, fly casting and more at the fly fishing lessons, which will end with group fly fishing games and activities.
Transportation to JHFFS will be provided from the Stilson Lot off the south end of the Moose-Wilson Road, with rides departing at 4 p.m. and dropping back off at 6:30 p.m. on seminar days.
Registration for the sessions is available here, and is open to any youth who are interested in learning more about fly fishing.
This marks the third year of free fly fishing lessons for budding fishers in Jackson. The program launched here in June 2022 as part of an effort by IGFA to reach more children across the United States.
