WYOMING — The Wyoming Department of Health is now offering free at-home COVID-19 testing and free tests for workplaces through the company, Vault Health. It is a saliva-based test that does not require a nasal swab.

At-home tests are available to Wyoming residents at no cost and insurance is not necessary. The saliva-based test is recommended for any Wyoming resident who wants to know if they are COVID-19 positive. Anyone who has had a previous positive test result in the last three months should not use this test. For children under the age of 5, please consult a healthcare provider to determine testing options.

Kits are shipped directly to residences. The sample collection process is performed during a video-based telehealth visit supervised by a Vault healthcare provider. During the telehealth visit, users will be asked to show a photo ID so the test supervisor can confirm the patient they are observing is the same person who ordered the test. Samples should then be sent to the Vault laboratory for testing. Results are expected from the laboratory within 48 hours from when samples are received.

The process is similar for employers who request tests. Employers will have the option of allowing employees to complete tests through online telehealth visits with Vault Health providers, or by receiving training directly from Vault Health on how to self-administer the tests without the need for telehealth visits.

Follow the instructions on the Vault Health site to order at-home tests. You may see cost information displayed, but once you enter your address and reach the payment page the cost is waived for Wyoming residents.
