JACKSON, Wyo. — Flat Creek Drive will remain closed through all of May and June as crews work on a new water and sewer line along with a complete road rebuild. The Town aims to reopen the road by July 4.
“Crews have the water line [mostly] in and are now working on the sewer line,” said the Town of Jackson’s Assistant Public Works Director Johnny Ziem. “Once the sewer line is in they have to build the road back up.”
Ziem explained that there are four parts to the project; the first two parts are the construction and installation of a new water and sewer line with a complete road rebuild to follow. Contractors are also working on new stormwater infrastructure.
For the last week, work has been delayed on Flat Creek due to the unexpected death of Project Manager John “Woody” Long. Long served as superintendent of Westwood Curtis Construction and was the manager of both the Flat Creek Drive and Rancher Street Projects.
“It is a huge loss,” said Ziem.
Crews are expected to resume work next week.
Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike are advised to seek alternate routes in the vicinity of this construction activity.
“Please be aware of, and obey all construction notification, detour and parking restriction signage as it is there for your safety and the safety of the construction workers,” said the Town of Jackson.
