CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Governor Mark Gordon, in accordance with President Biden’s directive, has ordered both the U.S. and State of Wyoming flag be flown at half-staff statewide immediately until sunset on Sunday, March 27 in honor of former Secretary of State Madeline Albright.

Albright died Wednesday, March 23, of cancer. She was 84.

Albright served as secretary of state — the first woman to do so — and was the first US ambassador to the United Nations.

“Madeleine Albright was a force,” President Joe Biden said in his proclamation. “She defied convention and broke barriers again and again.”
