Town and County representatives will present an update on the coronavirus Friday, officials announced.

LINCOLN COUNTY, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Health has reported the first positive case of COVID-19 in Lincoln County.

According to the Star Valley Independent, the patient is an adult male. At this time, there is no evidence of community spread in Lincoln County, though there is evidence in surrounding communities.

People who may have had close contact with a person who tests positive for COVID-19 are identified and contacted by the Wyoming Department of Health. Contact tracing is important as it helps to stop transmission of the virus within the community through early identification and prompt quarantine or isolation of the individuals who have potentially been exposed. Currently, the patient has been ordered to isolate and is recovering at home. All family members related to this case are quarantined at home.

There are now 153 positive cases in the state.
