VICTOR, Idaho — Erica Linnell has been appointed to the Victor City Council. She fills the seat left vacant after Mayor Sue Muncaster was appointed following former Mayor Will Frohlich’s resignation.
Linnell was nominated by Mayor Muncaster and confirmed by the current Victor City Council in a two-to-one vote, with Councilors Emily Sustick and Stacy Hulsing voting in favor and Councilor Amy Ross voting against.
Mayor Muncaster cited Linnell’s background as compelling for the position, which includes “local business ownership, board service, program supervision, emergency response experience and long-standing involvement in Teton Valley civic and nonprofit work.”
According to the press release from the City of Victor, public comment was heavily in support of Linnell’s nomination, despite some criticism about the extension of the application period.
Six people applied for the position.
“Every person who applied brought real strengths, experience, and demonstrated deep care for Victor,” Mayor Muncaster said in a press release. “This was not an easy decision, and I am grateful to everyone who took the time to write, attend, listen, and participate.”
Linnell will take the oath of office on Aug. 26 at the regular city council meeting and will serve until the next election cycle in November 2027, at which point she will need to run for election to keep the position.
