JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The east entrance of Yellowstone is open today. The northeast entrance from Cody via the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway usually opened to vehicles the first Friday in May, weather permitting, so today’s opening is right on time. Next Friday, the south entrance is scheduled to open.
Sylvan Pass will be closed today, however, from 1-6 pm as the day heats up due to avalanche danger. That closure will be in effect for Saturday as well.
