JACKSON, Wyo. — The downtown Jackson post office has shortened its opening hours and eliminated retail services due to a staffing shortage, effective beginning Thursday, Aug. 31.

“Due to the staffing shortage in Jackson, WY, effective Thursday, August 31, 2023, there will no longer be retail services in Downtown 83001,” a sign posted in the post office said.

The sign also noted the branch’s new hours. Package pickup will be available from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. It appears as though this will be the only service offered at the counter.

“Saturday we will be open 9 to 11 if we have proper staffing that day,” the sign said.

Mail and packages will still be delivered daily to P.O. boxes and parcel lockers.

Customers who wish to buy stamps and shipping supplies are directed to visit the Jackson Main branch, located at 1070 Maple Way.
