JACKSON, Wyo. — The Town’s Design Review Committee (DRC) discussed at length the proposed Mogul Capital project on North Cache Street at an Oct. 14 meeting, ultimately deciding to continue its review.

The five-building project — each building has been named A through E — spans North Cache, Glenwood, Perry and Mercill streets. The vote means the proposal will return to the DRC again rather than be recommended for approval or denial.

Committee members said the revised design had improved, but they wanted a clearer composition and more consistent use of materials, particularly for Building A.

The meeting comes after a continuance from the Sept. 9 meeting, which also resulted in a continuance due to concerns regarding the monumental feel of the project.

Much of the discussion centered on Building A, along Glenwood and Mercill. The committee was shown revisions intended to simplify Building A’s design, including simpler roof forms. Committee members recognized the progress but said the building’s composition still felt “chaotic” and “uncomfortable.” Several wanted a clearer logic connecting its massing, materials and window placement.

A date for the committee’s next review of the Mogul Capital project has not yet been set.
