WYOMING — Just in time for the new school year, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) has launched a new smartphone app to keep track of kids’ vaccination records.

The WDH Docket app can be used to view and share vaccination records, and find out which vaccinations are due. It’s available for download in both the Apple App Store and Google Play. Though it was designed with younger patients in mind, it can be used for people of any age.

“We wanted to offer a convenient option to Wyoming families who may have questions about the vaccination histories of their children,” WDH Immunization Unit Manager Cassandra Walkama said in a press release. “Children should have received most of their required immunizations by the time they enter kindergarten.”

The app pulls information from the Wyoming Immunization Registry, a cloud-based database of Wyoming residents’ electronic vaccination records.

Children attending Wyoming’s public and private schools, preschools and childcare facilities are required to be vaccinated against the following diseases: diphtheria, Haemophilus influenzae type b, hepatitis B, measles, mumps, pertussis (Whooping Cough), pneumococcal (pneumonia), polio, rotavirus, rubella, tetanus and varicella (Chickenpox). An updated diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis vaccination is also required when kids are 11, according to the WDH.
