JACKSON, Wyo. — According to the Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation (JHWF), preliminary data shows that the exclusionary fencing and wildlife underpasses on S. Hwy 89 are working to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions.

However, pedestrian access gates left open can still lead to animals getting trapped on the highway.

JHWF asks the public to take note of the signage along this stretch of highway, and be sure to close the gates after passing through.

“If you use these gates, we kindly ask that you remember to close them after you go through,” said JHWF.
