JACKSON, Wyo. — As part of Central Wyoming College’s Teton Talks, Todd Guenther will present, ‘They killed them as they needed: An Introduction to the Wiggins Fork Bison Jumps Complex Project’ on Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Teton County Library’s Ordway Auditorium.

The Wiggins Fork Bison Jumps Complex near Dubois revealed the anthropological discovery that it is not only thousands of years older than other Wyoming bison jumps, but it was used during early domestication.

According to the Wyoming Historical Society, a bison jump was a natural sinkhole that was used by American Indian tribes approximately five hundred years ago to trap buffalo for acquiring large amounts of meat and hides for survival.

The presentation and discussion will share on-the-ground research by Guenther and his team.
