Central Wyoming College is offering a SUMMER certificate program in Geospatial Information Science and Technology (GIST) and the entire CWC certificate can be completed in one summer! There are scholarships available and CWC is offering free housing at the CWC Sinks Canyon Center for the duration of the program.
Geospatial Information Science and Technology (GIST) harnesses the power of satellite imagery, 3d mapping and computer science to collect data and analyze features on the earth’s surface. Geospatial mapping is used in industries ranging from oil field development and resource exploration to monitoring and improving wildlife habitat.
The program equips students with the scientific and analytical background required to work with high-tech mapping technologies to assess real world problems and provide solutions. The courses will be offered in a hybrid format with some course materials delivered online, and other components of the courses taught in person. The program helps students build a strong foundation in the use of ESRI’s ArcGIS desktop software and ArcGIS online.
