JACKSON, Wyo. — County Clerk Maureen Murphy shared a breakdown of how many Teton County residents have registered to vote prior to the Primary Election on Tuesday, August 20.
Murphy told Buckrail that it has been a low voter turnout and she urges people to come to the polls on Tuesday.
“We are seeing a lower turnout for the Primary than we usually do,” Murphy said. “There are two races that are very important to our community — the Democratic County Commission and Town Council races. Plus, many Precinct Committeemen and Committeewomen races will be determined in the Primary and need the voters to vote on Tuesday!”
As of noon on Friday, August 16, Teton County had 12,428 registered voters. Of that total, 3,699 were registered as Democrats, 6,840 were registered as Republicans, 1,829 were unaffiliated, four registered as Constitution and 57 people registered as Libertarian.
All party affiliations can register to vote when arriving to the polls tomorrow. For those wanting to check their voter registration, call or visit the Administration Building at 200 S. Willow Street, Jackson.
The polls open tomorrow at 7 a.m. and will remain open until 7 p.m.
