JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Andy Cavallaro will be resigning as the Teton County assessor and joining Community Safety Network as executive director. The move will be made official beginning August 1, 2017.

“It was a very difficult decision to leave a great department with such a wonderful and professional staff. I’m extremely grateful for the relationships I’ve been fortunate enough to develop, and for the wonderful experience working within Teton County government.”

Cavallaro was elected as county assessor in 2015. He has a background in the social and human services field, and expressed excitement about returning to that work.

“I worked in social service many years before running an appraisal business and being elected as county assessor. Leading an organization like the Community Safety Network is an amazing opportunity, and I am grateful for the chance to work in that field again.”

CSN board chair, Jim Auge noted that when he first saw Cavallaro’s name among the applicants, his curiosity was piqued. Through the interview process, Cavallaro’s application rose to the top. Cavallaro is currently the Teton County Assessor. The more the search committee spoke with Cavallaro about his vision for the Community Safety Network the more it made perfect sense.

“This was a competitive process, and we were in the enviable position of having more than one highly qualified candidate. When it came down to it, the search committee decided Andy Cavallaro is the best fit for continuing the long history of successful leadership at the Community Safety Network,” Auge said.

Prior to his work as an elected official, Cavallaro was a small business owner, educator, and worked in a variety of capacities in the social service sector in Jackson Hole. In addition to teaching high school in Minnesota, Cavallaro was a case manager at the Jackson Hole Community Counseling Center where he mentored at-risk youth at Red Top Meadows.

Cavallaro replaces long-time CSN executive director Sharel Love who transitioned to lead One22 in May.
