JACKSON, Wyo. —  Fire officials are becoming increasingly concerned by dry conditions in the valley and the threat of wildland fires.

In an effort to inform the public about wildland fire prevention and preparedness, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS announced that they will host a new summer-long- series called, Coffee Talk with a Fire Chief.

The series kickoff will be held on June 16 at the Hoback Market by the picnic tables where Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Battalion Chief Fire Marshal Kathy Clay will discuss this year’s fire danger.

“This year we are experiencing unusually dry and warm conditions in the valley,” said Clay.

Therefore, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS is taking added measures to get the message out about wildland fires this summer.

“It is important that everyone is doing their part to take preemptive measures – from properly extinguishing your campfire, to protecting the area around your home, to knowing how to prepare for an evacuation.”
