JACKSON, Wyo. — The Town of Jackson is advising residents that several roads will be temporarily closed for chip seal work starting Monday, Aug. 26.
Selected roads will be closed to drivers, pedestrians and bikers and parking will not be available in these areas while the work is conducted.
Affected roads include:
- South Cache St. between Pearl St. and Aspen Dr.
- Several streets near the intersection of W Snow King Ave. and Scott Ln., including Smith Ln., Simon Ln., Dogwood Dr. and Stacy Ln.
- Gill Ave. from Jackson St to N Cache Dr.
- Blair Dr. near South Park Loop Rd.
Chip seal is a layer of liquid asphalt with small pebbles laid on top that vehicle wheels compress into the road. This type of paving doesn’t crack as easily with weather and can extend the life of a road and add friction for drivers.
The town did not provide an end date for the work, noting that it will be completed as weather conditions allow.
“Please be aware of, and obey all construction notification, detour and parking restriction signage as it is there for your safety and the safety of the construction workers,” the town advised in a press release.
