Drive slowly. 'Chips' or small stones can be kicked up by motorists traveling too fast and cause windshield damage.

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Crews will begin chip seal on Highway 390 today. They are waiting for the temperature to warm up, so they could begin anytime this morning.

There will be single lane traffic and pilot cars. Crews will shut down one lane, the distributor will then spray out with the chip spreader behind it. While trucks and equipment reload, crews will open two lanes of traffic to alleviate some of the queues. Once crews are loaded and ready again, the other lane would be shut down and chipped.

Work will take place during the day. Traffic delays will be extensive and intermittent. We ask that you avoid the area if possible. If you must travel through the project area, be prepared for extensive delays.

Remember to DRIVE SLOW! Driving too fast through a chip seal work area can flick chips up onto passing and following cars, cracking their windshields.
