JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Library (TCL) is bringing popular children’s author Barney Saltzberg to town in March for elementary school visits, an evening presentation at the library for all families and a daytime presentation for homeschool and private school students, also at the library.

With close to 50 picture books published, Saltzberg has been traveling the world talking about creativity and where ideas come from, TCL writes in a press release, including lectures in China and Russia through a cultural exchange program through the U.S. State Department. His book “Beautiful Oops” was chosen by literacy champion Melinda Gates as one of the top three books every child should read.
One of the themes Saltzberg weaves through his books is the art of making mistakes and finding play and creativity in our everyday lives. Other themes Saltzberg returns to throughout his work are the importance of working together for common good and how people can be alike and different at the same time.
“Saltzberg uses humor and whimsical illustrations that make him popular with both children and the adults who read with them, so we knew he’d be a big draw in our Author in the Schools program,” Beth Holmes, the Library’s youth program coordinator, says in the press release. “His two presentations at the library will give as many people as possible a chance to hear him speak.”
All TCL events are free and open to the public.
