JACKSON, Wyo. — Outgoing Jackson Police Department Chief of Police Todd Smith was recognized with a proclamation at Monday’s town council meeting. Chief Smith retires officially on August 23 after 29 years on the job.

In the absence of Mayor Pete Muldoon, who took part in the meeting online from home, Vice Mayor Hailey Morton Levinson read a proclamation of recognition of service for Smith. The two, both masked, shared an “elbow bump.”

Smith served the past 11 years as chief, replacing Dan Zivkovich in 2009.
