Cheyenne rodeo in 2018 had third largest paid attendance

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Cheyenne Frontier Days saw its third largest paid attendance last year in the history of the annual Wyoming western celebration.

KGAB-AM reports that an annual report released Thursday by the rodeo says 101,462 people attended the rodeos and 115,214 fans enjoyed the night shows.

Frontier Days CEO Tom Hirsig says the rodeo also set all-time records for merchandise, malt beverage and liquor sales.

Hirsig says the Eric Church concert ranks as the sixth night show of all time with a sellout crowd of 22,500.

He says the 2019 rodeo set for late July should be another excellent year.
