In their continuing efforts to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), will host Alex’s Table, an intimate sit down dinner presented by chef/restaurateur Gavin Fine (of Fine Dining Restaurant Group) and co-chaired by Rebecca and Dmitry Balyasny and Kristin and Mike Kelly on Saturday, July 20. The evening will bring together chefs from across the country to present signature culinary creations – all to benefit ALSF.
This year’s event will bring showcase dishes from guest chefs: Ben Ford (Los Angeles) – Ford’s Filling Station; Stephanie Izard (Chicago) – Girl & the Goat (Best Chefs in America Award 2013 – James Beard Foundation); Jeremy Sewall (Boston) – Island Creek Oyster/Row 34 (James Beard Award nominee); Marc Vetri (Philadelphia) – Vetri Cucina (Best Chefs in America Award 2005 – James Beard Foundation) and Gavin Fine (Jackson) – Fine Dining Restaurant Group.
Dishes will be paired with cocktails and wines from Gramercy Cellars and Lingua Franca, while the Leif Routman Jazz Quartet will provide live music and Whiskey Mornin’ will set the scene for after-dinner dancing.
“I initially became involved with ALSF in 2016 when I was a guest chef at the annual fundraiser put on by Marc Vetri and Jeff Benjamin in Philadelphia. Being around all these chefs who were coming together to support kids was really inspiring. It was a clear fit for me because it put together so many different parts of my life I care very deeply about: kids, cancer research and support and the culinary world. I knew, instantly, I wanted to start a similar event in Jackson Hole,” Fine shared.
In just two years, over $412,000 has been raised locally for the foundation, with over $232,000 being raised in 2018 alone. The event began as a small dinner at a private residence, grew to be hosted at Il Villaggio Osteria and continued to grow to be hosted outdoors at a private ranch.
Fine continued, “I’ve always loved the initiatives supported through ALSF, but it recently became personal. Unfortunately, a member of the Fine Dining family found themselves faced with an unimaginable situation for a parent to be faced with – their child was diagnosed with brain cancer. Living in Jackson Hole, with sometimes limited medical resources, they had to travel outside the valley to receive the care their child needed. ALSF helped support this amazing family. So as I enter this summer’s event, I am even more motivated than ever to support the important work being done by ALSF for kids around the country, as well as our own community, and in this case – part of our own Fine Dining family.”
All proceeds from the evening will benefit ALSF and its efforts to support pediatric cancer initiatives.
