JACSKON, Wyo. — This year marks the 10-year anniversary of R Park, the Jackson Hole Land Trust’s (JHLT) flagship community open space.

A decade ago, in the fall of 2014, R Park was successfully transformed from a gravel pit into a thriving natural park and officially opened to the public alongside its pedestrian bridge and bike path that cross the Snake River. For the past ten years, R Park has provided a vital and accessible connection to nature and has been adored by community members and wildlife alike.

R Park visitors can enjoy a peaceful afternoon on a paddle board, picnic with family and friends, crack into a new book under the sun or attend a community event hosted by a local nonprofit. R Park serves as an integral space for our community to recreate, relax and connect.

To celebrate this 10-year anniversary, JHLT is hosting a dinner at R Park on September 27! Gather with friends and neighbors to celebrate those who helped bring R Park to life and raise funds for the future of R Park.

The R Park 10-Year Anniversary Dinner will include a cocktail hour and park tours before a delicious farm-to-table meal curated by Chef Scott Nechay. Dinner will feature generously donated local fare, including Lockhart and Killpecker Creek cattle companies beef, produce from Canewater Farm and Huidekoper Ranch and bread from 460 Bread. Toast to this incredible milestone with drinks served by Wild Wagon Saloon and Snake River Roasting Co., who will be offering Wild Common Spirits, Wyoming Whiskey, Grand Teton Brewing beer and Westside Wine and Spirits wine.

Revel in live tunes by Carly King and join Hannah Pagel for a guided stargazing experience after dinner. Tickets for the dinner are now on sale and can be purchased here. The cost to attend is $175 per person or $2,500 for a table of ten. Special thanks to the presenting sponsor, GE Johnson.

The dinner will be the capstone of a 10-year anniversary capital campaign. JHLT is raising funds to make infrastructure improvements at R Park, including replacing aging bridges, installing bilingual signage, improving water quality and more. The campaign will also bolster the Community Conservation Fund. Gifts of all sizes are invited to help the JHLT achieve the $1,000,000 fundraising goal. Donate through the campaign website today to help  keep R Park thriving.
