JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County is aligning with the State of Wyoming to utilize the Care19 Alert and the Care19 Diary mobile applications (apps) to assist with contact tracing and exposure notification. The Teton County Health Department is encouraging all residents to download both apps to assist with reducing the spread of COVID-19.

Download the Care19 Diary app to record your activity. This will be important should you or a close companion test positive for COVID-19. The app will only store the location of any place a person visits for 10 minutes or more, and the ID number of each individual contains no personal information besides location data.

Care19 Alert allows you to receive notifications if you have been near someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 recently. Care19 Alert maintains your privacy while securely communicating with nearby iOS and Android devices that also have exposure notifications enabled.

Care19 Alert allows you to notify others if you test positive for COVID-19 and it will notify you if someone you came in contact with tested positive for COVID-19. With your permission, your key/date pairs will be securely uploaded to the National Key Server run by the Association of Public Health Laboratories. All uploaded key/date pairs are distributed to all of the devices connected to the National Key Server.

The Wyoming Department of Health and county health officials have worked tirelessly to track COVID-19 cases in the state and limit the virus’ spread through contact tracing efforts. The Care19 apps will help enhance the extensive contact tracing already occurring in the state. Click here for more information and to view frequently asked questions.
