JACKSON, Wyo. — The iconic and often eccentric “Captain” Bob Morris about town passed away yesterday at the age of 87.
Morris was known and loved by many in the valley for any of a number of reasons. He was the founder of KMTN radio in 1974. His radio ads promoting the legalization of marijuana were renowned. (His stance was not so much pro-pot but anti-black market).
Morris could also be spotted in and around town hitchhiking. He would often tip his driver with a $2 bill — his preferred currency.
The former marine also ran for town and county elected office several times. Never successful.
The man, the myth, the legend will be missed.
