WYOMING — On May 1, many seasonal Bridger Teton National Forest (BTNF) roads traditionally open, but this year a majority are still closed due to snow and mud cover after the long winter.

Staying on top of road maintenance is a big task for BTNF. BTNF officials remind motorists that driving on the closed roads now will only lead to increased costs of maintenance and delays in future road work. It could also cost the user fines or towing fees.

BTNF asks the public to make good decisions while driving during this muddy season, as they continue to work to open roads.
