JACKSON, Wyo. — Bridger-Teton National Forest’s Jackson Ranger District today released a summary of alternatives being considered before they officially publish the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) f0r the Snow King Mountain Resort On-Mountain Improvements Project.

BTNF will no longer seek public comment on proposed expansion until the DEIS is published.

Alternatives include adding roughly 117 acres of new and modified ski runs on the backside and a lift on the ridge and allowing a Summit gondola with a landing in Phil Baux Park or Rafferty midstation.

Today’s summary is not an analysis or judgment of alternatives. BTNF will evaluate each alternative in the Environmental Impact Statement.

The summary is based on comments received from the public during the scoping period for this project. Public comments were used to identify issues related to each proposed action. Resulting alternatives were developed in response to those comments. The draft Environmental Impact Statement will disclose the potential effects of each alternative, including the “no action” alternative.

Read the summary of draft alternatives here. Once the DEIS is released, BTNF will open a 45-day comment period.
