PINEDALE, Wyo. — Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) has announced that Kate Olsen will serve as Pinedale District Ranger.
BTNF Supervisor Chad Hudson appointed Olsen in the new role. She has been with BTNF as a fisheries biologist since 2017.
Olsen, a Pennsylvania native, holds a degree in environmental studies and biology from St. Lawrence University and a master’s of science in fisheries biology from Utah State University. She has held positions at Yellowstone National Park, Rocky Mountain Research Station, Medicine Bow Routt National Forest, Malheur National Forest and Sawtooth National Forest.
“I am really grateful that I’ve been given the opportunity to learn and grow in this new role,” Olsen said in the announcement. “I am excited to start to manage some of the challenges we know this district is faced with and to help the district to prepare for those we haven’t yet faced.”
