WILSON, Wyo. — Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) has announced that it will continue pile burning north of Red Top Meadows on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 12 to 13.
The fire activity will take place off of Fall Creek Road’s north fork on the Jackson Ranger District, close to Wilson.
“There may be smoke in the area,” BTNF posted on Facebook. “Please do not report.”
Burns are also planned in the Highland Hills area. About 20 acres of piles around the Kelly guard station area are also scheduled for burns.
BTNF representatives say the burn schedule will depend on weather. Stormy weather is expected to continue through Friday, according to Buckrail meteorologist Alan Smith.
Piles near Pinedale in Elkhart Park and White Pine have already burned, but firefighters will be monitoring those sites through the weekend, BTNF said.
