A brush fire was reported this afternoon on highway 89 around 1:30pm just South of Big Trail drive in Jackson. A group of passerbys including Donnie Wackerman were able to keep the fire under control with water jugs and stomping out the flames while fire crews responded.

The fire was put out quickly and appears to be under control.

Western Wyoming is under elevated fire conditions with breezy winds, higher temps and low humidity. Please be extra careful with fire! There are two active fires currently burning  – The Slide Wildfire burning near Bondurant and the Middle Fork fire that is burning in the area of Commissary Ridge, north of Kemmerer, WY.
