JACKSON, WYO – UPDATE from Jackson Hole Fire/EMS:

“Jackson Hole Fire/EMS responded to a fully involved bus fire this morning around 7:15. The driver was the only one on board and heard a pop. This appeared to be the rear driver side tire. Possibly the brakes had iced up and had not properly released and the friction started the tires on fire. The driver and a passer by applied two extinguishers in the first several minutes, but the tires continued to burn and eventually after several minutes the other components of the bus were involved. Fire/EMS responded very quickly with an engine and water tender, quickly put out the fire, the tires continued to smoke for an hour.”

A Start Bus has been reported on fire and on the side of the road near the Stilton lot. Expect delays this morning if your heading that way and please stay out of emergency personnel’s way as they get the scene under control.
