UPDATE: 1 p.m., Feb. 15: According to the Teton County Coroner, the snowboarder has been identified as Daniel Clark Tatum, 27, from Virginia. 

JACKSON, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) has reported that a 27-year-old snowboarder was fatally injured at the resort yesterday, February 14.

At 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, a group reported their friend missing after last seeing him in the Grizzly Glade area off of the Teton Lift at approximately 10:45 a.m. A search was initiated by Jackson Hole Ski Patrol yesterday until 8:45 p.m. and resumed at 6:30 a.m. today. Grand Teton National Park, Teton County Search and Rescue, and the Teton County Sheriff were involved to support the effort to find the snowboarder.

He was discovered in a tree well earlier this morning where he was found unresponsive. No other details or name of the victim have been released at this time.
