JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Airport Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting personnel are currently responding to an active fire on the airport property. No aircraft is on fire.

UPDATE (3:40pm):

Airport director Jim Elwood elaborated on the event, which he said is a reignite of a controlled burn previously prescribed on the west end of the airport property. High winds today kicked up some residual embers and the airport fire department was immediately called out to suppress the blaze.

“It ended up being more smoke than anything,” Elwood said.

At no time was any structure threatened. Not even any sagebrush was burned, the director pointed out. Operations and activity at the Airport were not disrupted.
