TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s Aerial Tram will operate this summer after a two year hiatus, announced the resort earlier this week.
Last summer, the tram was closed to conduct extensive maintenance in preparation for 2021/22 winter operations.
Initially, JHMR had only planned for the tram to close for a single summer season in 2020. However Vice President of Operations, Tim Mason, said COVID restrictions halted progress.
“[In summer 2020] we started this work, and we were unable to get specialized skilled workers into the country to complete the job due to COVID travel restrictions,” said Mason.
Despite the setback, Big Red will be in service beginning May 21, 2022.
“We’re excited the Tram will once again operate during summer,” said the resort on Facebook.
