JACKSON, Wyo. —There’s no question that dance is tremendously beneficial for every age, but research has shown that it provides an overwhelming array of excellent advantages to children and young adults.
The physical impacts of dance are plentiful — from increased strength, flexibility and overall fitness — and can have a lifelong impact. Strong posture, excellent balance and robust spatial awareness enhance children’s overall well-being as well as minimize their risk of injury while participating in other sports and activities.
Perhaps more fascinating, however, are the incredible ways that dance can nourish a child’s neurological development as well as nurturing their creativity, communication skills and social-emotional resiliency. Movement to music and rhythm enhances cognitive development in all age groups, from two years to 18 years. Children also benefit from the structure and routine of dance — excellent dance education reinforces critical life skills like accountability, timeliness, active listening and more.
Dance is, at its heart, a form of storytelling — of pure, beautiful self-expression. Encouraging children to create, explore and engage their own authenticity through art and creativity boosts their confidence and fosters an overall appreciation for the arts.
Dancers’ Workshop delivers these exceptional benefits to children of all ages in Jackson Hole; offering world-class dance education in the heart of the mountains. From “My Grownup & Me” and Kinder programming for the smallest dancers, through sterling pre-professional programming for teens, Dancers’ Workshop is home to internationally-recognized teaching staff with diverse and distinguished credentials.

“From everyday classes in the studio to participating in our annual professionally-produced Winter Production at the Center Theater, we ensure that every student has exceptional opportunities to learn new styles and modalities as well as hone their technique and individual creativity,” said Eric Midgley, director of The School at Dancers’ Workshop. “We’re looking forward to the beginning of fall semester — welcoming back the students who have been deeply dedicated to pursuing their dance careers, as well as meeting new students and families with curiosity and interest in the power of top-caliber dance education.”
