VICTOR, Idaho — Music on Main is back from the holiday hiatus this Thursday with the band likely traveling the farthest to make it to the Victor City Park stage. Bamba Wassoulou Groove will bring the rhythms of West Africa to Teton Valley.
Hailing from Mali, the band is a tribute to the legacy of the Super Djata Band, known for its energetic, danceable music blending funk, rock and West African rhythms, featuring powerful guitar solos and a soulful, hypnotic sound.
Bamba Wassoulou Groove is composed of 6 musicians (three guitars, one bass, a drum and a singer) and is here to create a real wall of sound. Solis with Hendrixian virtuosos, trance voice, evil bass and drum sections, the band is a heavy dance machine who electrifies the Malian music and recreates the excitement of the hot nights in Bamako.
Bamba Wassoulou Groove incorporates funk and rock elements with traditional Malian rhythms, creating a unique and danceable sound. It’s not a night to miss.
Jazz outfit Jason Fritts Project will kick the evening off as TVF welcomes the Community Foundation of Teton Valley to the stage to talk about 2025 Tin Cup. Music on Main asks for a $5 donation from concertgoers to help underwrite the community-driven event. Be sure to check out the 20th Anniversary Music on Main playlist here.
