Awards in line for sidewalk shoveling in Driggs

TETON VALLEY, Ida. — Engagement of local businesses is the aim of a new contest that encourages tidy snow shoveling in Driggs.

Justin Mehlhaff, the town’s officer responsible for code enforcement, has concocted a winter-y competition spanning until February 28 in which the public is encouraged to nominate a local shop frontage showing particular quality in its snow clearance.

Driggs city code stipulates property owners are to maintain sidewalk areas adjacent to their lots, and within 24 hours of fresh snowfall. Those that exemplify the best of this over the coming two months will enjoy gift certificate prizes and recognition from a grateful, foot-traveling public.
