JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Library Foundation and Friends has announced a major guest for the 20th anniversary of the annual Page to the Podium event: Colson Whitehead.

Whitehead has twice been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for fiction, first for his 2016 novel “The Underground Railroad,” and then for his 2019 novel “The Nickel Boys.” Among his other accolades are the 2021 National Humanities Medal, the 2020 Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction, a MacArthur Fellowship and a Guggenheim Fellowship.

He will appear in Jackson for the event on May 18, 2026.

“Whitehead is one of America’s most celebrated voices and the only two-time Pulitzer Prize winning author to be featured at the library’s signature event,” the Foundation and Friends’ announcement states. “Page to the Podium brings distinguished authors to our community for evenings of shared ideas, literature and inspiration. Whitehead now joins the tradition of poets, novelists, memoirists, and thinkers who have enriched our cultural life through the art and power of storytelling. We are grateful for the generosity of library donors and supporters who make these extraordinary opportunities possible.”
