JACKSON, Wyo. — Ahh, remember those awkward years of early adolescence?

Being barraged by society’s messages about how to dress and act, who to befriend or date… these years are of tremendous importance as young people grapple with their own sense of self-esteem, values, ambitions, and boundaries. Proactive connections and education for youth can prevent a wide spectrum of issues in their futures and set them up for unlimited success.

Your support of Growing Stronger Together will ensure that these kinds of opportunities are always available for Jackson’s youth. The engaging, proactive programming that Community Safety Network and Teton Youth & Family Services provide to young adults in Teton County has an immeasurable impact on families of all backgrounds.

Growing Stronger Together — an innovative collaborative fundraiser to support this programming — is off to a robust start thanks to the sponsorship of Ted and Noa Staryk, The Trifecta Fund – Carrie, Lyla, and Carly Kirkpatrick, The Newton Foundation, Margot Snowdon and Yves Desgouttes, Bank of Jackson Hole, and Singleton Peery Financial.

“A systematic review of 53 studies found that universal school-based violence prevention programs were associated with reductions in violent behavior at all grade levels… [and were] effective in reducing violent behavior among students in all school environments, regardless of socioeconomic status, race and ethnicity, or crime rate. The evidence also shows that specific programs have been associated with reductions in delinquency and alcohol and substance abuse, and improvements in academic performance.”

In other words, according to the CDC, prevention efforts have a significant and lasting impact on the lives of young people: better educational opportunities, less substance abuse, and stronger grades. Teton Youth & Family Services and Community Safety Network are on the front lines in the community, offering precisely these kinds of resources for young adults of all backgrounds via opportunities like the Peer Advocate Program, Dating 101 Club, Summer Leadership Camps, and more.
