WYOMING – The Cody Police Department said it is investigating the death of a woman found yesterday at her home in the Green Acres Mobile Home Park, 2821 Rocky RD #27.

According to Chief of Police Chuck Baker, officers responded to a call on January 11 at approximately 2:52pm. Upon arrival officers found a 50-year female deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

The Cody Police Department Investigations Division is currently conducting a death investigation and no further information is available.

Bonneville school lockdown

At approximately 10am this morning Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Ammon Rd. and Woodside Dr. to a report of a suspicious male walking on the side of the road. It was reported the male was wearing what looked like a holstered handgun.

Because of the proximity of schools in the area of this call, Bonneville School District 93 and Sheriff’s Deputies stationed inside the schools were notified resulting in a lockdown as a precaution. Schools affected by the lockdown were Bonneville High School, Technical Careers High School, Bonneville Online High School, Rocky Mountain Middle School, Summit Hills Elementary, and Discovery Elementary School.

Deputies in the area were able to locate the male subject in question and found no threat or criminal activity had taken place. The lockdown on the schools was lifted at approximately 10:45am and schools resumed their normal activities.
