Bonneville school lockdown

At approximately 10am this morning Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Ammon Rd. and Woodside Dr. to a report of a suspicious male walking on the side of the road. It was reported the male was wearing what looked like a holstered handgun.

Because of the proximity of schools in the area of this call, Bonneville School District 93 and Sheriff’s Deputies stationed inside the schools were notified resulting in a lockdown as a precaution. Schools affected by the lockdown were Bonneville High School, Technical Careers High School, Bonneville Online High School, Rocky Mountain Middle School, Summit Hills Elementary, and Discovery Elementary School.

Deputies in the area were able to locate the male subject in question and found no threat or criminal activity had taken place. The lockdown on the schools was lifted at approximately 10:45am and schools resumed their normal activities.
