JACKSON, Wyo.— ARC’TERYX, the technical leader in outdoor apparel and equipment, offers skiers and snowboarders in Jackson an all-inclusive opportunity to hone their backcountry skills.

The ARC’TERYX Ski and Snowboard Academy returns to Jackson this weekend, February 6-9. Beginners and experts alike will learn valuable backcountry knowledge through professionally guided clinics, educational seminars, and shared experiences in the ultimate alpine environment. World-class instruction, supported by Exum Mountain Guides, will focus on technical ski alpinism, efficient winter mobility, crevasse rescue/rope work, critical mountain skills and important backcountry safety for skiers and split boarders.

But the fun doesn’t end when the sun goes down. Activities and events continue into the evening with a host of pro athlete/keynote speakers, inspirational films and live music.

The first talk of the series will be with Forrest Coots, who’ll take us through his journey of the first ascent of Mount Sapal (at the Elks Lodge) followed by music from One Ton Pig. Then on Friday, February 7, don’t miss the iconic Bill Briggs interview with Greg Hill as he talks about his first descent of the Grand Teton and Katie Burrell’s comedy documentary Dream Job.

Certain to be the highlight of the weekend will be the Jackson Hole Exposed Photo Showdown on Saturday, February 8 where six professional photographers will go head to head in a Pro Photo Showdown. Hosted at The Center, each photographer will show a five-minute slideshow of accumulative images shot from three days around Jackson Hole, with one day to edit, capturing the essence of the backcountry ski and snowboard culture that surrounds the Tetons.

Lastly, close out the weekend on Saturday with Emancipator at the Pink Garter Theatre. Tickets for this weekend’s events available here.
