JACKSON, Wyo. — After a wet and wild spring and a high Snake River run-off, Buckrail is excited to announce the winners of Dave Hansen‘s High Water Heyday Contest.

High water mark guesses flooded in while the Snake River quite literally flooded. This year’s contest received over 915 entries from eager boaters hoping to score the grand prize raft. USGS confirmed flows hit their peak on June 13, 2022 at 19,300 cfs (cubic feet/second).

From 3 to 13,000,000, the spectrum of guesses were as wide as the Snake River is long. Believe it or not, our local winner guessed the very first day of the contest on April 1, 2022 and came in just below the official cfs mark without going over.

Drum roll, please…

Elliott Wilkins won himself a new NRS Star Outlaw 140 self-bailing raft with his guess. Wilkins, a Jackson local, guessed 19,270. His guess was the closest guess without going over the mark and the earliest, closest guess cast on April 1, 2022.

“I thought it was a spam call…. Best voicemail I’ve ever received. Cannot wait to take it out for the maiden voyage. I’m thrilled and still in shock!” Wilkins said after learning his guess won the contest.

Our other contest winner included our out-of-area winner, Jodey Gyorfy.

Hailing from Idaho Falls, ID, Jodey Gyorfy was the closest guess for our out-of-area entries (19,250 CFS) casting her vote on April 8, 2022. Jodey Gyorfy wins a rafting trip with Dave Hansen Whitewater for herself and up to seven friends.

Congrats to Elliott Wilkins and Jodey Gyorfy! The winners have been notified, and we look forward to seeing them out on the river this summer!
