Ambassador Grappo to address America’s global leadership

JACKSON, Wyo. — International academic and consulting firm CEO, Ambassador Gary Grappo is set to keynote speak this Sunday evening at the Center for the Arts. Ambassador Grappo will explore America’s leadership position in today’s complex international political climate and share his expertise with the Jackson community.

Held on Sunday, November 10 at The Center for the Arts, Ambassador Grappo’s 7 p.m. presentation, followed by open floor, is free and open to the community. His informative keynote will kick-off next week’s Teton County Model UN hosted by InterConnections 21.

A distinguished recipient of several US State Department awards, Ambassador Grappo‘s 30-year career details officer’s commissioning in the US Air Force as well as diplomatic postings to Central America, Washington D.C., Europe, and the Middle East, where he was sworn in as U.S. Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman in 2006.

Now retired as an American diplomat, Ambassador Grappo is founder and CEO of Equilibrium International Consulting, LLC with additional titles including Visiting Senior Scholar at the Center for Global and Area Studies of the University of Wyoming and recognition as a Distinguished Fellow at University of Denver’s Center for Middle East Studies since 2015.

The pre-conference evening featuring Ambassador Grappo is prelude to a subsequent two days of Model UN action held at Jackson Hole High School and hosted by local nonprofit, InterConnections 21.

Teton County Model UN, 2019 is hosted by InterConnections 21 and held at Jackson Hole High School on Monday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 12. Over 200 faculty and student delegates from 12 school across Wyoming and Idaho will unite to hone their skills in diplomatic language and protocols, international negotiation, passing of resolutions and preparation of position papers. Model UN then concludes with awards for best position paper and most outstanding student delegate per-committee.
